31 Days of Yoga Challenge (Day 5)

Hello everyone!
Today is the fifth day into my 31 day yoga challenge. I apologize for posting this one so late. Today has been a very hectic and busy day. Anyway, today I sat down and just pondered on what I wanted to be thankful for today and then all of a sudden my sweet little baby kitty Eliza jumped up on my lap and started cuddling with me. It then occurred to me, I'm thankful for cats... animals in general every single day of my life but just for today - cats. I am thankful that God created cats to live on this earth with us. They make me so happy and brighten my days just a little bit more. I sometimes tell my mom if I could have one super power it would be for me to be able to understand and communicate with all animals in general. It would be an amazing power I think, and would come in very handy don't you think? There is so much animal abuse going on in the world and I simply do not understand it. It breaks my heart a little each and every day. I'm a crazy cat lady for sure, maybe even a crazy animal lady... whatever. I like animals better than people anyway. Animals don't have a voice in this world so we have to be their voices for them. For as long as I can remember I have always had some kind of animal in the house growing up. I believe it really does create good character in children as they grow. It teaches them how to be gentle, loving, compassionate, sensitive, and even aware that their are other living things in this world besides people. My life would be just a little bit dull without them. And this kitty in this picture below... well that's Eliza. She is the most wonderful kitty I have ever owned. She is perfect in every way. People who don't like animals or cats for that matter I don't understand. But if they knew her personality and witnessed out relationship together on a regular daily basis, well I believe their negative opinions would change real quickly. Eliza is a one of a kind and I don't know what I would do without her because she makes my days happy. If you are an animal lover like me then yay for you! That makes me so happy and if you aren't then next time just think before you decide to physically or verbally abuse a harmless animal. They are living and breathing things too. They have feelings and emotions just like us, and think... would you want to be treated that way? Stop animal cruelty, get your animals spayed and neutered - be responsible and respectable.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." -Anatole Francis

"If you don't like seeing pictures of violence towards animals being posted, you need to help stop the violence, not the pictures." -Johnny Depp

Compassion - learn it, teach it, share it.

"If having a soul means being able to feel love, loyalty, and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans." -James Herriot

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." -Mahatma Gandhi
